Drumfire Teambuilding

Hello! This is Dimitri Vasdekis, and I am the complete technical support team for both Drumfire and BadBubba Records. It isn’t often that I feel the need to discuss what we at Drumfire are doing behind the scenes on a technology front, but numerous exciting things are happening and I thought that I would share them with you.

We’ve just begun working with Shaun, from Shaun Santa Cruz Designs, an American designer who has been given the horrible job of completely redoing the Drumfire web site. We all know it could perhaps be cleaner and more user-friendly, and Shaun is looking to fulfill both of these critera, and put this blog into a more central role on the site. Hopefully, at the end of it, there’ll be a column on one side of the main Drumfire site, where you see the latest additions to this blog at a glance. It really should increase the readership, as this is one of the few ‘authentic’ corporate blogs out there, and I believe Chrisse deserves more attention than she has been getting. Perhaps I’m not quite impartial, but that’s my opinion of it.

Secondly, we’re looking for ways to deal with the absolute flood of Blog Comment spam that we’ve been trying to deal with. Very quickly at the beginning of this blog’s development, we had to change the comment system from one where anyone can immediately post to one where authorisation is needed. The attacks are getting more and more specific, and even a basic form of Image Recognition is being built into these blog comment programs, which throw as many links as they can on your site for their horribly overpriced generic pharmaceuticals from North Korea. A consequence of this is any legitimate comment gets thrown in with this huge bag of spam, and never gets found again. If anyone would like to comment or discuss things with us until this is fixed, then please feel free to just email us.
